This kit is used for quantitative determination of luteinizing hormone (LH) in human serum in vitro. Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a kind of glycoprotein hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary. Its molecular weight is 26000, and it is composed of α and β subunits. Its main physiological function is to promote follicle maturation and estrogen synthesis together with FSH during follicular period, then cause ovulation, and then make follicle become corpus luteum. It can promote the growth of stroma and the synthesis of testosterone, promote the proliferation of Leydig cells of testis in men, and synthesize androgen and secrete testosterone. LH and FSH can promote sperm maturation. Therefore, for the diagnosis of gonadal function and disease and family planning, the level of LH in serum should be detected.
